The duties, authorities, and responsibilities of Pelindo III are to manage 43 ports spread across 7 provinces, namely East Java, Central Java, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara and has 10 subsidiaries and affiliates.

With the increase in port activity and the increasing flow of goods shipping using containers at several ports accompanied by increased productivity of loading and unloading services, it is necessary to prepare supporting facilities, namely in Karang Jamuang, revitalization work will be carried out, one of which is dredging the Karang Jamuang Pier pool.
